Okay, so while Amber and I were dating and getting closer to engagement (deep down we knew we would get married, we just had to go through some "formalities" if you will), she mentions how she would like to get some new couches. I could understand why - the ones she had were nice in some ways, but old and worn. So I was completely up for that sometime A FEW months after getting married.
Well, we recently had a garage sale with the Waite Family to get rid of a bunch of stuff. So the day before the garage sale, while our neices on her side were staying with us for the night (Riley and Taylee), Amber looks at me and says, "What would you do if you came home and I sold our these couches?" Right then I knew that day was the last I had seen of them.
It didn't surprise me though. She wants new ones and figured if she is going to get rid of them then now is the time. Plus, Amber is nothing short of a go-getter so this spur-of-the-moment thing is definitely not beyond her.
I decided to take a couple of pictures of what our living room looks like now. If any of you are planning on coming over soon, I wouldn't plan on staying for too long :)
Enjoy the pix.........................

4th of July: Who needs Roaring Springs??
Warning: this post may be hard to read due to some formatting errors. I am having a hard time fixing the problem, sorry!
It is hard to believe that the 4th of July has come and gone and that Brinton and I have been married for a month now. Time flies. I was just realizing that next week will be the end of summer school and we will be flying out to Snowflake, AZ for the Flake Family reunion. I can not believe how quickly things are going. I am ready for the summer to slow down now.
Last week to celebrate the 4th of July, Brinton and I gathered with some of my family to have a BBQ. Tawnya and Josh along with some of their friends in their neighborhood hosted the gathering at their neighborhood park. We had a great time in the heat. There was a nice breeze blowing to keep things cool in the shade.
Some of the activities included: BBQ, Touch football, sitting chatting, the kids splashing in the kiddie pool and playing on the slip and slide, family checking out our wedding photo album and the playground water slide.

The Newlyweds in all their cheesiness!
When Tawnya sent out an invite she mentioned that there would be water fun and games. I didn't realize this would include the adults having as much fun as the children. One of her friends in the neighborhood rigged up the children's slides with a sprinkler and tarps and came up with this modified water slide.
All who played had fun, with the exception of a few run ins and bumps and bruises. Had I know it would have involved so much fun for the adults I would have brought my swim suit too.
One of our family traditions includes reading the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution the week of the 4th so this is how we ended the evening. It was a nice evening. I appreciate Brinton's enthusiasm to teach our future family the importance of the Declaration and other important documents constituted by our Founding Fathers.

Our Wedding 06-07-08
The day has finally come and we are now married. It has been nearly a month and we thought it was about time to share some photos.
A beautiful day. We were wonderfully calm and enjoyed each moment of the day. We feel blessed that we were able to find one another and step forward into the next piece of life.
